from the last few days in nyc 𓂃 do I miss watching the sun set over the manhattan skyline from my bedroom window? a little. is the view from my bed in dc even better? absolutely. 🥰

we fell in love riding elec scooters around the ci

we fell in love riding elec scooters around the city... so we bought our own 🛵

(#ad) attn: dc/md/va friends! 🌿 sharing with you a new discovery of mine: @madmagickombucha. they’re a booch brewery (hand brewed & bottled right in fauquier county, va) that have 19 different flavors, brewed on a made-to-order basis.

the beer & coffee enthusiast in me was v intrigued by their “hops” and “kafé” flavors 👀 and they did not disappoint🍺☕️🤗 ～ go check them out at madmagickombucha.com and use MADMAGIC10OFF for 10% off & free delivery throughout dc/md/va.

+ all their booch is non-gmo, gluten-free, vegan and certified organic (no added sugars, no artificial flavorings and no artificial ingredients)

one of the only bits I have of my granddad’s, wh

one of the only bits I have of my granddad’s, who passed nearly 18 years ago, is his 1940s #ronsonlighter. it hasn’t worked in decades and I had accepted that it was a lost cause and that the little lighter’s days of sparking were past.

this weekend, after a little tinkering and lots of patience, @coreyjlandolt got it to light again. just one more little way he’s adding to my life.

for me, the whole point of playing with sourdough

for me, the whole point of playing with sourdough is to try making something you always assumed you’d buy and today that was hamburger buns.

did I think they could be done in six hours with unfed starter? nope. did I think I had the energy or mental toughness to hand-knead butter into dough for 30 minutes? definitely not. and yet, here they are! happy little puffs with a tender, close crumb that were later hugging a beautiful smash burger and making Friday night especially special.

and to cap it ... I’ve been feeling under the weather and getting in the kitchen a little today has definitely helped me get some mojo back 💥

finding the balance between posting what I’m used to and going with the flow of a new apartment, partner, and 🐶. expect more pup snouts in the future ...
